We would like to inform you about your rights as a data subject. These rights are set out in Articles 15–22 of the GDPR. They include:

We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
Withdrawal of Consent to Data Processing
Some data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time. A simple informal e-mail to datenschutz@variovac.de is sufficient. The legality of data processing carried out until withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Recipients of the Data / Categories of Recipients
Within our company, we ensure that only those persons who need your data to fulfill contractual and legal obligations have access to it.
In many cases, service providers assist our departments in fulfilling their tasks. All service providers have signed the necessary data protection agreements.
We currently use a web hosting provider as a service provider.
Third-Country Transfer / Intention to Transfer Data to a Third Country
A transfer of data to countries outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) only takes place if it is necessary for the performance of contractual obligations, legally required, or if you have given your consent.
We transfer your personal data to service providers or group companies outside the EEA. Details can be found in the description of the individual tools.
Compliance with an adequate level of data protection can be ensured through, for example, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or binding corporate rules.
Data Retention Period
We store your data for as long as is necessary for the respective processing purpose. Please note that many retention obligations require data to continue to be stored (e.g. commercial or tax retention obligations under the German Commercial Code or Fiscal Code). If no further retention obligations exist, data are routinely deleted once the purpose has been fulfilled.
We may also retain data if you have given us permission or if legal disputes arise and we use data as evidence within statutory limitation periods (up to 30 years; the regular limitation period is three years).
Obligation to Provide Data
Certain personal data are required to establish, perform, and terminate contractual relationships and to fulfill related legal obligations. The same applies to the use of our website and its various functions.
In certain cases, data must also be collected or provided due to legal requirements. Please note that we cannot process your inquiry or execute the underlying contractual relationship without such data.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use automated decision-making processes.

5. Links to Social Media
Our website contains links to social networks such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn. These links are recognizable by the respective company logos.
When you click such a link, a connection to the servers of the respective social network is established, and it is informed that you have visited our website.
Further data, such as the URL of the visited site, date/time, browser and operating system information, and your IP address, may also be transmitted.
If you are logged into the respective social network, the provider may assign this information directly to your user account. You can prevent this by logging out beforehand.
Please note that the servers of social networks may be located in the USA or other countries outside the EU, where data protection laws may not offer the same level of protection.
We have no influence on the scope, type, or purpose of data processing by the providers. For more information, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective social networks.
6. Cookies (Art. 6(1)(a), (f) GDPR; §25(1), (2) TDDDG)
Our website uses cookies to make our services more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They contain only pseudonymous, often anonymous, data. Some cookies remain for the duration of a browser session (session cookies), others are stored longer (persistent cookies, e.g. consent settings).
Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after their designated period (usually 6 months).
Based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), we use technically necessary cookies that are essential for website operation. We may also use cookies without consent if they are required to transmit communications or to provide a service expressly requested by you (§25(2) TDDDG).
Technically necessary cookies:
Name | Function | Retention Period |
session_var23 | This session cookie is used to maintain an existing session during your visit to our website. It ensures that requests from your browser can be assigned to a session. | Until browser is closed |
Cookie settings (privacy) | This cookie stores your chosen cookie settings and ensures that they are retained across multiple browser sessions. | 30 days |
language settings (lang, country, skin) | These cookies store your chosen language and country settings so that you always see the correct version of our website. | Until browser is closed |
Provided you give your consent, additional cookies are used, which enable us and/or third parties, for example, to analyze how our services are used. This allows us to tailor the content to users’ needs. In addition, the cookies enable us to measure the effectiveness of a particular advertisement and to determine its placement, for example, based on users’ thematic interests. The legal basis for this is your explicit consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, § 25 para. 1 TDDDG).
You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect via our consent banner and change your cookie settings. Please note that changes must be made separately for each device.
[Access Consent Tool]
If you maintain accounts with third-party providers used by us and are logged in there, your data may be linked to the respective account. You can avoid such linkage by not granting or by withdrawing your consent to the relevant cookies, or by logging out of the respective third-party providers beforehand.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can also manually deactivate, restrict, or delete cookies on your device via your browser settings or with the help of software. If you deactivate the setting of cookies, full use of our websites will not be possible or only possible to a limited extent.
Please also note our information in the section of the respective service that uses cookies.
7. Eingesetzte Tools
Google Web Fonts
Our website uses Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When you access our website, your browser loads the required fonts from “Google” into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts quickly and uniformly. After downloading, the “Google Fonts” are stored in the browser cache and can be reused by any other website that uses the Google Fonts API. When loading the website, your browser establishes a connection to Google’s servers and transmits your IP address as well as your browser and device data to Google. In doing so, Google receives the information that our website was accessed by you and logs the records of CSS and font requests. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which the user is logged in or whether no user account exists. If users are logged into Google, their usage data is directly associated with the corresponding Google account. If your browser does not support the fonts used, a standard font from your computer will be used instead. We use “Google Fonts” to ensure a uniform and visually appealing presentation of our online offerings, as well as to improve the performance, maintainability, and accessibility of our website.
The legal basis for use is your explicit consent, Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR and – insofar as access to information on the end device takes place – § 25 para. 1 TDDDG.
Please note that when using this service, data transfers to third countries such as the U.S.A. and thus outside the European Union may also occur. Companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as is the case in the member states of the European Union, and therefore the security of your personal data cannot be guaranteed.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, simply open our consent banner and deselect the corresponding consent option. Please note that any changes made in the consent banner settings must be carried out separately for each device.
(Cookie Settings)
Google Maps
On our website, we use Google Maps (API) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, § 25 para. 1 TDDDG). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive (land) maps in order to visually present geographic information.
As soon as you access the subpages in which the Google Maps map is integrated, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google’s servers in the USA and stored there. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not wish data to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them. Such an evaluation is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR and enables personalized advertising, market research, and/or the design of the website according to user needs.
Please note that when using this service, data transfers to third countries such as the U.S.A. and thus outside the European Union may occur. Companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as in the member states of the European Union, and therefore the security of your personal data cannot be guaranteed.
You can view Google’s Terms of Service at http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/terms/regional.html, and the additional Terms of Service for Google Maps at https://www.google.com/intl/de_US/help/terms_maps.html.
Detailed information on data protection in connection with the use of Google Maps can be found on Google’s website (“Google Privacy Policy”): http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. To do so, simply open our consent banner and adjust the settings accordingly. Please note that changes made in the consent banner settings must be made separately for each device.
(Cookie Settings)
If you do not agree to the future transmission of your data to Google within the framework of using Google Maps, you also have the option of completely deactivating the Google Maps web service by disabling the JavaScript application in your browser. Google Maps, and therefore the map display on this website, can then no longer be used.
YouTube Plugin (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a EU-GDPR, § 25 para. 1 TDDDG)
To display the videos contained on our website, we use a service provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. As long as you do not play such a video, no data about you as a user is transmitted to YouTube. A transfer of your data takes place only after you have given your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a EU-GDPR).
When you visit our website, we display a so-called “banner.” You already have the option there to consent to data processing. If you have not done so, an information notice about data processing will appear in the video display area when you attempt to play a video. Through this, you can then enable the videos and thereby consent to data processing.
(You can withdraw your consent at any time here under “XXX.”)
Only after you have given your consent does YouTube receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding content on our website. If you have a Google account and are logged in to Google while playing the video, this can be directly linked to your account. If you do not wish such an association, you must log out before opening the video. YouTube may store your data and, in particular, process it for purposes of advertising and market research. Such analysis for the purpose of displaying personalized advertising can also occur if you have a Google account but are not currently logged in.
Please note that when using YouTube, data transfers to third countries such as the U.S.A., and thus outside the European Union, may also occur. Companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as in the member states of the European Union, and therefore the security of your personal data cannot be guaranteed.
