Our Headquarters in Zarrentin am Schaalsee
In 1995, a new chapter began for us with the founding of the VARIOVAC brand and our move from Buchholz in der Nordheide to Zarrentin am Schaalsee. Here we found the space we needed to grow – and the perfect conditions for sustainable development. Zarrentin, with its 5,500 residents, is beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Schaalsee in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. At the same time, its location is strategically ideal: in the growing A24 Business Park, directly connected to the motorway between Hamburg and Berlin. Since then, we have continuously expanded our site – adding new production and logistics halls, modern offices, and a canteen with a sun terrace that gives our staff plenty of room to connect. We are especially proud of our two manufacturing halls, equipped with state-of-the-art milling and turning machines. Thanks to our extensive in-house production, we are able to reduce material costs, making our machine manufacturing more efficient and competitive. Cleanliness, order, and modern standards are particularly important to us. For us, Zarrentin is more than just a location – it is where growth, technology, and quality come together, for our team and for our customers worldwide.
PRODUCTION AREA OPTIMUS
On around 900 m², we manufacture our Optimus thermoforming machine in a two-shift system – the entry-level model for automated packaging. This also includes various versions such as the Optimus SE/SEL, Optimus MP, Optimus EasySkin and Optimus Medical.





PRODUCTION AREA PRIMUS
In the Primus division, we manufacture our most powerful series of thermoforming machines on roughly 2,950 m² in a two-shift system. Alongside the Primus itself, this includes the Primus MP and Primus Medical models – developed for larger industrial companies with high production volumes and complex packaging requirements.
MECHANICAL PARTS MANUFACTURING
Across 1,560 m², we produce the precise die and machine parts for our packaging machines Primus, Optimus, Linus and Rotarius. Working in a two-shift system with additional night runs, we use modern multi-axis machining centres, sawing technology, vibratory finishing systems, bending machines, and complementary technologies such as CAM programming, 3D printing and PTFE coating.





Parts and Retrofits
Our parts and retrofit division covers 150 m². Here we not only assemble new components, but also adapt and upgrade machines as needed. Whether it’s packaging sizes, cutting devices, or complete modifications – our team ensures everything is put together quickly and with precision.
Shipping
In our modern 900 m² shipping hall, our machines are prepared to the highest standards for worldwide transport. Each unit is carefully packaged to ensure maximum safety and protection throughout its journey.




CONSUMABLES
Our Consumables Department supports you with high-quality solutions for packaging materials and product presentation. Whether bags, trays, or films – our application technicians bring their expertise and test different materials to find the best solution for your product. Hygiene, product protection, and shelf life are always the top priorities.
Our well-stocked tray and film inventory, together with our experienced application technicians, make the department a key interface within the company and significantly ease the packaging process for our customers.
